National Register to Vote Day - September 22, 2020

September 22, 2020 is National Register to Vote Day! 

Wisconsin law requires new voter registration if you have moved, changed your name, turned 18 years of age, or are a new resident of Wisconsin.

To register to vote in the Town of Greenville, you must have resided in Town for at least 28 consecutive days prior to an election.  You can register online at:  MyVote.Wi.Gov or print the Voter Registration Form and bring to the clerk's office with proof of residency.

The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department's Feature Friday

Each Friday, the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. This week we want to tell you about our archery range! 

The archery range at Lions Park was built in 2014 by the Greenville Civic Club. The original design included a covered platform 12 feet off the ground along with ground level shooting on each side. The Civic Club began making further improvements to the range in the fall of 2019 and finished them up just this week! The site now includes two structures that cover the ground level shooting line on either side of the tower. These structures not only improve the safety of the range by preventing arrows from being shot upwards but they also provide shade and protect archers from the elements. We are very excited about this project and want to extend a huge thank you to the Greenville Civic Club for making this project happen!

Other amenities at the archery range include bow hangers, broken arrow bins, arrow quivers at the line, a bow case shelf, garbage cans and picnic tables. The range is open year round from 7:00am until dusk. Target distances range from 10 to 50 yards. It is open to all ages but children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult. Fall Free Tire Drop Off

The Outagamie County Recycling and Solid Waste's fall free tire collection event begins on September 14. This means that the Town of Greenville will begin accepting tires at the Yard Waste site next week! Tires will be accepted at site from Wednesday, September 9 – Thursday, September 17, 2020.

Collection is limited to Town of Greenville Residents only, with the limit of 4 tires per household. Tires will not be accepted at the Town during any other time, however can be dropped at the Outagamie County Landfill for a fee. Tires from businesses are not accepted. Only tires with a rim size of 18”or less will be accepted at no charge. For all tires with a rim size of 19" or larger in size or quantities of over 4, the resident will be charged $5.00 per tire.  If taken directly to the Outagamie County Landfill/Recycling Center (1419 Holland Rd, Appleton) additional fees are $175.00 per ton.

WisDOT Seeking Input on Design Alternatives for School Road & STH 76 Intersection

WisDOT announced in late 2018 a Federal Highway Safety Improvement Grant was awarded for intersection safety improvements to STH 76 & School Road.  WisDOT is seeking public input on the design alternatives.  More information can be found at their website:  https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/projects/by-region/ne/wis76schoolroad/default.aspx

Purpose and Need

The purpose of the project is to address safety and level of service issues at the WIS 76 and School Road intersection. The project has been approved for a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

Proposed improvements

The proposed improvements include:

• New pavement structure
• Lighting
• Culvert/storm sewer replacement
• Curb and Gutter
• Signing and pavement marking
• Pedestrian accommodations at the intersection

• Presentation
• Handout and Comment Form
• Roundabout Display
• Traffic Signal Display

Project schedule

• Finalize alternative selection in summer 2020
• Design is on-going and will continue through summer 2023
• Real estate acquisition is anticipated to begin in fall 2021
• Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2024
