WisDOT announced in late 2018 a Federal Highway Safety Improvement Grant was awarded for intersection safety improvements to STH 76 & School Road. Purpose and Need
The
purpose of the project is to address safety and level of service issues
at the WIS 76 and School Road intersection. The project has been
approved for a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant from the
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Proposed improvements
The proposed improvements include:
- New pavement structure
- Lighting
- Culvert/storm sewer replacement
- Curb and Gutter
- Signing and pavement marking
- Pedestrian accommodations at the intersection
Project schedule
- Finalize alternative selection in summer 2020
- Design is on-going and will continue through summer 2023
- Real estate acquisition is anticipated to begin in fall 2021
- Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2024
