Greenville Project Updates

The projects detailed below are large scale projects happening in addition to our regular, day to day, operations. Their completion may be managed by village staff or the services may be contracted with a third party. Streets

  • Greenwood Road Reconstruction
    • Week of 9/6/21: Curb and gutter to be poured south of Cedar Ln. Installation of sanitary and water laterals to homes between Rickey and Parkview. Continue digging storm water pond.
    • Week of 9/13/21: Finish excavation of pond and finish installation of sanitary and water laterals. Connect new water main to Brandon Ct, Parkview Dr, and south end of Greenwood Rd. Start storm sewer installation. Possibly begin road excavation north of Rickey Ln

Water & Sewer

  • STH 76 Force Main & Lift Station Improvements
    • Week of 9/7/21: Lift Station 2 valve vault and wet well piping. Place fillets in wet well. The concrete floor for the new chemical feed building at Lift Station 2 will be placed. Valve vault installation at Lift Station 1.
    • Week of 9/13/21: Valve vault and wet well work continues. Manhole installation and bypass preparation near Lift Station 2. Work continues at Lift Station 1.

Parks, Recreation & Forestry

  • Schultz Farm Road
    • The construction of Schultz Farm Road, which provides access to the Sports Complex and Well #5, is complete. Final site restoration will be completed this fall.
  • Jennerjohn Park Parking Lot Reconstruction
    • The parking lot accessed from Rickey Lane will be reconstructed to be more efficient for parking and stormwater facilities will be installed to direct water to the pond. Construction was planned to begin August 30 but is delayed due to supply issues. Completion is scheduled for mid-October. This lot will be CLOSED during construction. The park will remain open with parking available in the Meadowview Drive lot. Trail access from Rickey Lane will remain open.
  • Lions Park Development
    • The Lions Club has resumed work on the southeast corner of the park with completion of the sport courts. The Lions Club have decided to change the planned tennis court area to a dedicated pickle ball facility. The facility will include 8 pickle ball courts. Additional facilities will include sand volleyball, tennis and basketball. Please keep clear of this area while work continues.
  • Community Park Redevelopment
    • The Village is working with Cedar Corporation to continue planning and design work for the potential redevelopment of Community Park. This is a partnership project between the Village, Greenville Youth Sports and Greenville Civic Club.
  • Kimberly Court Trail Extension
    • The Greenville Public Works Crew has completed construction of the base for the trail extension along Kimberly Court to connect the trail from the end of the cul de sac to the Greenville Middle School. Paving and site restoration is scheduled to be completed in September. This will provide safer access to the school from the Hwy 76 trail. Previously trail users had to travel on the road surface of Kimberly Court to reach the school area and reconnect with the trail.
    • Week of 9/6/21: Fine grading of trail.
    • Week of 9/13/21: Asphalt paving and restoration.
