Greenville Project Updates

The projects detailed below are large scale projects happening in addition to our regular, day to day, operations. Their completion may be managed by village staff or the services may be contracted with a third party. Streets

  • Greenwood Road Reconstruction
    • The Village of Greenville was notified by Sommers Construction that due to weather they will not be on Greenwood Rd till Tuesday Aug. 31. Sommers Construction plans to start pouring curb and gutter on the west side of the road with the east side to immediately follow. Please keep vigilant, so you can have your vehicles and any other things out of your driveway you would like to use due the concrete cannot be driven on for 7 days after it is poured.
    • Week of 8/23/21: Work on installing water main between Rickey Ln and Parkview, and continue to dig the storm water pond.
    • Week of 8/30/21: Finish water main installation, start installation of water and sanitary sewer laterals to homes, installation of storm sewer, all between Rickey and just north of Parkview. Continue to dig the storm water pond. Curb and gutter is set to be poured on Tuesday of this week.

Water & Sewer

  • STH 76 Force Main & Lift Station Improvements
    • Week of 8/23/21: Lift Station 2 valve vault and wet well piping. The foundation for the new chemical feed and control building at Lift Station 2 has been placed. Begin valve vault installation at Lift Station 1.
    • Week of 8/30/21: Valve vault and wet well work continues. Manhole installation and bypass preparation near Lift Station 2. Work continues at Lift Station 1.

Parks, Recreation & Forestry

  • Schultz Farm Road
    • The construction of Schultz Farm Road, which provides access to the Sports Complex and Well #5, is scheduled for completion by the end of August. Utilities have been relocated and Vinton Construction will complete the project with construction of the right turn lane and paving the road surface north of Hwy 96.
  • Jennerjohn Park Parking Lot Reconstruction
    • The parking lot accessed from Rickey Lane will be reconstructed to be more efficient for parking and stormwater facilities will be installed to direct water to the pond. Construction is planned to begin August 30 with completion scheduled for mid-October. This lot will be CLOSED during construction. The park will remain open with parking available in the Meadowview Drive lot. Trail access from Rickey Lane will remain open.
  • Lions Park Development
    • The Lions Club has resumed work on the southeast corner of the park with completion of the sport courts. The Lions Club have decided to change the planned tennis court area to a dedicated pickle ball facility. The facility will include 8 pickle ball courts. Additional facilities will include sand volleyball, tennis and basketball. Please keep clear of this area while work continues.
  • Community Park Redevelopment
    • The Village is working with Cedar Corporation to continue planning and design work for the potential redevelopment of Community Park. This is a partnership project between the Village, Greenville Youth Sports and Greenville Civic Club.
  • Kimberly Court Trail Extension
    • The Greenville Public Works Crew is currently building a trail extension along Kimberly Court to connect the trail from the end of the cul de sac to the Greenville Middle School. This will provide safer access to the school from the Hwy 76 trail. Previously trail users had to travel on the road surface of Kimberly Court to reach the school area and reconnect with the trail.
    • Week of 8/23/2021: Pavement removal and rough grading of base aggregate and topsoil.
    • Week of 8/30/2021: Final grading of base aggregate and potentially pave depending on weather.
