Each Friday, the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. This week, we're continuing our "Meet the Staff" series and we want to introduce you to Ericka.
Ericka has worked for the Village of Greenville for just over four years. You may have talked to her if you’ve rented a park, joined our tennis program or called with any general inquires. We share her with the Public Works Department too so you may also recognize if you’ve worked with their department.
Ericka grew up in Appleton where she lived for most of her life. After high school, she went to Fox Valley Technical College then worked as both an Administrative Assistant and Office Manager before starting here with us. She enjoys engaging the community and loves to show them what our department has to offer!
We asked Ericka to tell us a little more about herself and here’s what she said:
Q: What inspired you to work in parks, recreation and forestry?
A: Honestly, it found me. I didn’t know I loved parks and rec until I started working in it!
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: I really enjoy working with our events and programs. All the fun stuff!
Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A: I’ve always been pretty eager and indecisive so I wanted to be everything but nothing definitively.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I enjoy reading, boating, hiking, vacationing.. I like to spend time outside with my husband and dogs. My niece and nephew are so much fun so I really love to hang out with them too!
Q: What do you wish the public knew about Greenville Parks and Rec?
A: How much hard work and preparation goes into keeping everything fun and beautiful for our residents.
