The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department's Feature Friday

Each Friday, the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. Throughout these cold months we've bnen sharing a series of meet the staff features. You've already met Jeff, Shawn Ericka and Jake so this week we want to introduce you to our Director!

Tony Nowak is the Director of Greenville’s Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and has served the Greenville community for nearly 17 years. Tony grew up in Milwaukee before earning his Urban Forestry and Forest Recreation degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. After college, he worked a variety of lawn and landscape jobs before joining us here in the Town of Greenville. Tony is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional and ISA Certified Arborist. As Director, he collaborates closely with many community groups like the Greenville Civic Club, Greenville Lions and Lioness Clubs, and Greenville Youth Sports to provide a variety of Park and Recreation opportunities to the community. Some of his favorite duties include Movie Night at Lions Park, working with neighborhoods to build a new playground and talking to youth groups about trees.

Fun facts about our Director: When he was a kid, Tony wanted to be a national park ranger when he grew up. In his free time now, Tony enjoys spending time with his family, camping, biking and birding.
