Fire & Safety Building Progresses Despite Poor Weather

The Greenville Fire & Safety Building construction is still on schedule to be completed before the end of the year 2019.  This coming despite the poor weather we've been experiencing in our area during the month of September and now into early October.

Much of the exterior work is expected to be completed by the end of October.  Final brick work, windows, doors, concrete site work and landscape restoration is planned over the next few weeks.

Interior work is being completed regardless of the weather conditions.  Electric, plumbing and HVAC work is being run, drywall, plastering, flooring are among the other components being completed in October.

The project to-date is progressing smoothly.  Project costs are being held within budgeted amounts.

When completed, the new Fire & Safety Building will provide approximately 22,000 square feet of finished space to support fire and EMS related services to the Town and our mutual aid partners.

Once the new facility is completed and occupied, the existing station will be re-purposed for the use of public works, parks & forestry and sanitary district equipment.  Providing additional storage of smaller utility vehicles and additional office space for Public Works and Parks personnel.
