The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Departments's Feature Friday

Each Friday, the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. This week we want to give you an update on the Lions Park Construction!

The Greenville Lions Club started the development of the final portion of Lions Park in the beginning of 2018. The first phase of construction included the mass grading of the site, the installation of utilities and the installation of a gravel base for the parking lot and sport courts. This phase was completed by the end of June 2018.
In August of this year, the Lions Club moved on to phase two of the project. The concrete was poured for the tennis and basketball courts, stairways and ramps. Railing for the stairways and ramps, as well as topsoil and grass seed, are still to come this fall.

The next phase of this project will include fencing around the tennis and basketball courts. After the fencing is installed the lines will be painted on the courts and the basketball hoops, tennis nets, volleyball nets will be installed. This phase was approved in the beginning of September and should be completed before winter.
This project is being full funded and managed by the Greenville Lions Club but we are excited to see this project progress!
