Greenville Project Updates

The projects detailed below are large scale projects happening in addition to our regular, day to day, operations. Their completion may be managed by village staff or the services may be contracted with a third party. Please remember that all of the information, and time lines, are weather dependent and subject to change at any time.

Streets

• Greenwood Road Reconstruction
• Week of 5/17/21: Continue to install storm sewer laterals, inlets, and yard drains south of Cedar Ln.
• Week of 5/21/21: Finish installing storm sewer features south of Cedar Ln, start to install sanitary sewer and water main north of Cedar Ln, and begin constructing the new road south of Cedar Ln.
• WisDOT Highway 15 Maintenance

Water & Sewer

• STH 76 Force Main & Lift Station Improvements
• Week of May 17, 2021: Force main installation north of Maple Terrace Road to the Tracks.
• Week of May 24, 2021: Force main installation continues.
• Week of June 7, 2021: STH 76 Railroad crossing will be closed.
• Annual Sewer Cleaning and Televising
• This process will likely continue through the end of May. Affected areas can be see here.
• Toilets in affected areas may "burp" during this cleaning process. We advise that you keep your toilet lids down to avoid any back splash of water.

Parks, Recreation & Forestry

• Schultz Farm Road
• The construction of Schultz Farm Road, which provides access to the Sports Complex and Well #5, is scheduled for completion this summer. Work has resumed with the relocation of utilities. Following the utility work, Vinton Construction will complete the project with construction of the right turn lane and paving the road surface north of Hwy 96. 
• Lions Park Street Lighting
• WE Energies has completed installation of the new street lighting for Lions Park. Village staff will be working to remove the old lighting.
• Jennerjohn Park Parking Lot Reconstruction
• Staff is currently working with Cedar Corporation on the design for the reconstruction of the main Jennerjohn Park parking lot. The lot will be designed to be more efficient for parking and stormwater facilities will be installed to direct water to the pond. Construction is planned for September/October.
• Lions Park Development
• The Lions Club will be resuming work on the southeast corner of the park this summer with completion of the tennis courts, basketball courts and sand volleyball court. The tennis courts will also be striped to accommodate pickle ball.
• Community Park Redevelopment
• The Village will be working with Cedar Corporation this summer to continue planning and design work for the potential redevelopment of Community Park. This is a partnership project between the Village, Greenville Youth Sports and Greenville Civic Club.

The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department's Feature Friday

Each Friday, the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. This week, we want to tell you about our skate park!

The skate park is located at the northwest end of Community Park and is open from 7am until dusk. It was designed in 2013 by local skaters and later built in 2014. When the skate park was built, it was built with the intention that Community Park would be a temporary home and it would eventually move to the Lions Park. Although there is no date currently set for this move, it is still the future plan.

Equipment at the skate park includes a quarter pipe, bank ramp, kinked grind rail, two grind boxes and central ramp with additional grind rail. This facility is not supervised but, we do encourage all skaters to use protective wear while skating at the park.

2021 Movie Night Schedule

With help from our sponsors, we are excited to present our 14th annual Community Movie Night lineup!

Movie Night will be held as normal this year with seating on the hillside. Attendees will be asked to seat themselves with members of their own household and maintain 6 feet of distance between other households. Face coverings will be required when entering the pavilion or interacting with others.

Tennis Registration

Times running out to sign up for tennis this summer! Registration ends Friday, May 21, 2021.

Lessons are taught by qualified instructors and are based on the United States Professional Tennis Registry standard of teaching. Each lesson focuses on at least one stroke going over correct grip and progressions of the stroke.

The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department's Feature Friday

Each Friday, the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. This week, we are excited to announce that the water at Heritage Fountain has been turned back on for the summer!

Standing at almost 11 feet tall, the Heritage Fountain has been a focal point at Jennerjohn Park since it was installed in 2004. It’s made of solid granite and features a soaring eagle at the top. The brick plaza surrounding the fountain includes benches, stone walls, memorial bricks and beautiful landscaping. The water within the Heritage Fountain is dyed a bright blue to help make it viewable form both near and far. Though there is no swimming, standing, or throwing money into the fountain, it is still the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature!
