The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department's Feature Friday

Each Friday, The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department features something new for residents and visitors to learn more about. This week we want to tell you about a fun trail activity!

During the summer of 2019, The Boldt Company and United Way partnered together to donate one of their Born Learning Trails to our Greenville Lions Park.

Born Learning Trails provide the opportunity for parents and caregivers to engage children in literacy and language skills through interactive stations. The Born Learning Trail at Lions Park is located along the trail in front of the playground.

From start to finish, you’ll find 12 signs and corresponding paint on the ground below. First you’ll find a construction worker sign along with the United Way welcome sign. There are nine activity stations that follow. These stations promote movement, activity, learning and observation all disguised as fun little activities. At the end, you’ll find a Boldt Company dump truck (a perfect photo op!).
