Greenville Project Updates

The projects detailed below are large scale projects happening in addition to our regular, day to day, operations. Their completion may be managed by village staff or the services may be contracted with a third party. Please remember that all of the information, and time lines, are weather dependent and subject to change at any time.

Streets
  • Greenwood Road Reconstruction
    • Week of 6/14/21: Continuing to cut and stone new roadway and driveway aprons between Cedar Ln and HWY 15 and installation of sanitary sewer laterals and water laterals to homes between Cedar Ln and Rickey Ln and
    • Week of 6/21/21: Continue with the same activities as above, and possibly start the installation of storm sewer between Cedar Ln and Rickey Ln.

Water & Sewer
  • STH 76 Force Main & Lift Station Improvements
    • Week of 6/14/21: STH 76 force main installation continues North of the railroad tracks and across Everglade Road to Lift Station 1. Concrete paving North of the STH 15/76 intersection continues. Everglade Road at times will require one way flagging at the intersection of STH 76. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND SLOW DOWN. 
    • Week of 6/21/21: STH 76 force main installation nears completion, and the remaining asphalt paving begins.
  • Annual Hydrant Flushing
    • This process will begin the week of June 7 and is scheduled to continue throughout the entire summer.

Parks, Recreation & Forestry
  • Schultz Farm Road
    • The construction of Schultz Farm Road, which provides access to the Sports Complex and Well #5, is scheduled for completion this summer. Utilities have been relocated and Vinton Construction will complete the project with construction of the right turn lane and paving the road surface north of Hwy 96.
  • Lions Park Street Lighting
    • WE Energies has completed installation of the new street lighting for Lions Park. Village staff will be working to remove the old light poles.
  • Jennerjohn Park Parking Lot Reconstruction
    • Staff is currently working with Cedar Corporation on the design and bidding for the reconstruction of the main Jennerjohn Park parking lot. The lot will be designed to be more efficient for parking and stormwater facilities will be installed to direct water to the pond. Construction is planned for September/October.
  • Lions Park Development
    • The Lions Club will be resuming work on the southeast corner of the park this summer with completion of the sport courts. The Lions Club have decided to change the planned tennis court area to a dedicated pickle ball facility. The facility will include 8 pickle ball courts. Additional facilities will include sand volleyball and basketball.
  • Community Park Redevelopment
    • The Village is working with Cedar Corporation this summer to continue planning and design work for the potential redevelopment of Community Park. This is a partnership project between the Village, Greenville Youth Sports and Greenville Civic Club.
  • Lions Park Parking and Traffic Pattern Change
    • The Village recently added parking stalls and changed the traffic pattern at Lions Park in an effort to accommodate the demand for parking while also increasing safety for park users. The north entrance to the park is now an entrance only with one way traffic until the road that leads to the archery range. The south entrance remains two way traffic.
